ROBERT BOUTERS
About The Artist
Robert grew up as a teenager in Los Angeles, CA during the late 80s and early 90s, when the streets pulsed with skateboards and graffiti. Hip hop and rap became the soundtrack of his youth, shaping his rhythm, perspective, and approach to art.
As a skateboarder and graffiti artist, Robert learned to translate motion, rebellion, and grit into visual form. His current work carries those roots forward while colliding with the pop imagery of his generation. From Roger Rabbit to Tupac to the Morton Salt Girl, his pieces remix familiar characters and logos with the same layered energy of graffiti walls and hip hop beats.
In recent years, Robert moved to Maine to be closer to family and embrace a simpler life, allowing more time for creativity. Robert and his wife started a business, bout CREATING, focusing on creating through laser engraving and cutting. He loves doing custom signs, bringing a personal touch to each piece he craft.
This October, Robert presents over 20 works that bridge street culture, music, and pop art-blending nostalgia with commentary on the present. Each piece invites viewers to reconnect with what shaped them, while seeing these icons through a fresh, contemporary lens.
